We follow you, not a protocol.
Every person who comes to Trinitas is unique. Your history, your nervous system, your faith, your parts — no two are the same. Which means the way we work with you will never be identical to the way we work with anyone else.
IFS and somatic awareness are the primary lens through which we see and accompany people. But we hold a range of evidence-based tools and approaches that we draw on thoughtfully, always in service of you and what you most need in this season.
What We Draw On
EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
is a research-supported approach for processing traumatic memories. Using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reframe distressing experiences and reduce their emotional charge — bringing lasting relief from triggers and renewed emotional freedom. EMDR is offered by Lori as part of her clinical work.
Polyvagal theory
gives us a map of the nervous system — helping us understand why you move between states of connection, mobilization, and shutdown, and how to gently support your system back toward safety and regulation. Understanding your nervous system is not a detour from healing. It is often the most direct path to it.
Attachment-focused work
explores how your earliest relationships shaped your patterns of trust, closeness, and independence — and how those patterns show up today in your relationships with others, with yourself, and with God. Recognizing your attachment patterns opens the door to deeper, more secure connection in every area of life.
Trauma-informed care
underlies everything we do. We understand that trauma lives not only in memory but in the body and in the relational field. Safety, trust, and your own pace are never negotiable.
Mindfulness-based practices
help quiet the mind, regulate the nervous system, and bring gentle awareness to what is present — without judgment. Mindfulness at Trinitas is always grounded in the body and informed by faith.
The Thread Running Through All of It
Whatever tools we use, the posture is always the same — curious, compassionate, and unhurried. We are not trying to fix you. We are walking beside you, holding space for the wisdom that is already within you to emerge.
You bring yourself. We bring what we have. And together, we find the way forward.
