  • Key aspects of this role include:

    1. IFS-Based Therapy: As an IFS-based counselor, my primary responsibility is to provide therapeutic support using the Internal Family Systems model. I work with individuals to help them understand, heal, and integrate their inner parts, leading to improved mental and emotional well-being.

    2. Different Modalities: As a licensed counselor, I believe in the importance of embracing a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. I recognize that every individual is unique, and their needs may vary. In my practice, I am open to integrating other therapeutic modalities when it serves the best interests of my clients. This flexible approach allows me to draw from a diverse toolkit of evidence-based interventions, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), mindfulness-based techniques, and more, to create customized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client. My commitment to offering a range oftherapeutic modalities underscores my dedication to providing comprehensive and individualized care to support the emotional and psychological well-being of those I serve.

    3. Client-Patient Relationship: In my role as an IFS-based counselor, I establish a confidential and therapeutic relationship with my clients, utilizing the IFS framework to guide treatment plans tailored to their unique needs. I comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act HIPAA.

    4. Licensing Requirements: I am required to maintain a valid counseling license in the states where I practice, which are West Virginia and Florida. My practice is governed by state-specific regulations and ethics, ensuring that I adhere to the highest standards of care and confidentiality. I continuously engage in professional development related to licensure, including specialized training in IFS therapy, to provide the best possible care.

  • 1. Global: Working as an IFS consultant means I engage with clients from around the world who seek to understand and work with their internal family system. My approach is adaptable and focused on delivering value in different personal contexts.

    2. IFS Expertise: My role as a consultant centers around sharing my expertise in the IFS model, which involves helping individuals explore their inner parts and harmonize their inner world. I provide guidance and recommendations on utilizing IFS to address specific challenges and foster self-healing.

    3. Confidentiality: In my role as an IFS consultant, I establish a confidential relationship with my clients though boundaries are agreed on between myself and the client. Some clients choose to have a more open collaboration but that is determined by the client.

    4. Limitations: It is important to note that as a consultant, I do not typically work with clients experiencing a high level of distress that might include clinical PTSD, suicidal ideation, or an inability to self-sooth. My role is primarily focused on providing guidance and support for individuals seeking personal growth and emotional healing rather than those in immediate crisis.
