What We Do

At Trinitas we have many things we can do but it is all focus on seeing and helping you wholistically. We have many parts and all of them have reasons to do, think, and feel certain ways - we are here to help befriend those parts and let “self” guide them into a harmonious system. Here are brief descriptions of the ways we help.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle yet powerful approach to understanding the many “parts” within us—each carrying its own feelings, beliefs, and needs. Through IFS, we learn to approach these parts with curiosity, compassion, and respect, inviting healing where there has been hurt. This process fosters a deep connection with your authentic Self, where clarity, calm, and wholeness reside.

Somatic IFS

Somatic IFS integrates the insights of IFS with the wisdom of the body. It invites you to notice sensations, breath, and movement as guides in connecting with and caring for your inner parts. By engaging both mind and body, this approach supports profound healing, especially for experiences stored beyond words.

Trauma-Informed Healing and Integration

Trauma-informed care acknowledges the impact of past wounds while prioritizing safety, trust, and empowerment in every step of the healing journey. We recognize that trauma lives not only in the mind but also in the body and relationships. Integration means gently weaving past experiences into your story without them defining you, so you can move forward with strength and peace.

Catholic/Christian Integration

For those seeking therapy that honors their faith, Catholic/Christian integration unites the best of psychological science with a Christ-centered worldview. Scripture, prayer, and the wisdom of the Church may be woven into sessions, always respecting the client’s unique spiritual journey. This approach supports both psychological growth and spiritual renewal.

Neurodivergent

We understand and value neurodiversity, recognizing that brains process, feel, and interact in beautifully different ways. Whether you are navigating life with ADHD, autism, or other forms of neurodivergence, our approach affirms your strengths while addressing challenges. Together, we work toward thriving in a world that often expects conformity.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel overwhelming—racing thoughts, constant “what ifs,” and a sense of being on high alert. Our work focuses on helping you understand the roots of your anxiety, calm the nervous system, and build practical tools for daily life. With support, it’s possible to transform anxiety into a signal for self-care rather than a constant state of stress.

Depression

Depression often feels like a heavy fog that dims joy and drains energy. We help you explore underlying causes—whether emotional, relational, or spiritual—while offering a safe space to express and process your experience. Healing is nurtured through connection, small steps forward, and rediscovering meaning and hope.

Grief

Grief is a natural response to loss, yet it can be isolating and unpredictable. We walk with you through each wave of emotion, making room for sorrow, love, and the complexity of your story. Over time, grief can shift from an unbearable weight to a cherished part of your life’s tapestry.

Transitions

Life transitions—whether planned or unexpected—can bring both excitement and uncertainty. We help you navigate change with clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. By exploring your values and resources, you can step into new seasons with confidence and hope.

Marriage

Healthy marriages require intentional connection, honest communication, and a shared vision for the future. We support couples in working through conflict, healing past hurts, and strengthening their bond. Together, you can rediscover joy, intimacy, and partnership in your relationship.

Family Dynamics

Families are living systems with patterns that shape each member’s experience. We help families identify and shift unhelpful cycles, improve communication, and nurture mutual understanding. The goal is a healthier, more connected family life where every member feels seen and valued.

Counseling

Counseling provides a confidential, supportive space to address emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges. Using approaches like IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness, we tailor therapy to your unique needs. Our aim is not just symptom relief but lasting, holistic healing.

Coaching / IFS Guide

Coaching and IFS guidance are for those seeking growth, clarity, and direction outside a clinical context. Through reflective conversation and IFS-informed exploration, we help you align with your values and move toward your goals. This is an empowering, action-oriented process for both personal and professional development.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-supported approach for processing traumatic memories. By using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reframe distressing experiences, reducing their emotional charge. This technique allows for lasting relief from triggers and renewed emotional freedom.

Mindfulness-Based Techniques

Mindfulness-based practices teach you to be present in the moment with openness and curiosity. They help quiet the mind, regulate emotions, and reduce stress. Incorporating mindfulness into therapy fosters self-awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of peace.

Polyvagal Theory

Polyvagal Theory explains how our nervous system responds to safety and danger, influencing emotions, behavior, and relationships. Understanding your nervous system can help you move from states of fear or shutdown toward connection and calm. We use this knowledge to support emotional regulation and healing.

Attachment Theory

Attachment Theory explores how early relationships shape our patterns of trust, closeness, and independence. Recognizing your attachment style can illuminate both strengths and challenges in your connections. Therapy can help you cultivate secure, fulfilling relationships in every area of life.

Story Work

Story Work involves revisiting and re-authoring the key narratives of your life. By understanding how past experiences have shaped your beliefs, you can choose which stories to keep, which to rewrite, and which to release. This process opens the door to greater freedom, identity, and purpose.
